Canmore Couple’s Session (Quarry Lake)

Kenny and Luke are big mountain people, so they of course wanted to come out to Canmore for their session!
For this session, we planned to do two outfits to get a variety of images and just to switch up the vibe. The all-black look is SUCH a killer look!
Quarry Lake is one of my favourite photo locations in Canmore. In walking distance you get a wide variety of settings ranging from dense forest, fabulous mountain views, a lake, and wide open skies to catch sunset colours in the clouds.
Lots of laughs, lots of piggyback rides, and lots of fun.
This corridor of trees makes for a great photo spot- the natural framing that it offers works wonderfully for a photo. Once you walk through this corridor, you’re treated to a beautiful view of the iconic Ha Ling mountain.
I said it before but I’ll send it again, an all black outfit is SO GOOD. UGH.
Above is a gallery of goofy photos. I always aim for a balance of ‘cute couple’ photos… and ridiculousness! My secret is to get the couple to interact with each other. It helps everyone loosen up, get more comfortable in front of the camera, and allows their true personalities to shine!
Above is the dramatic peak of Ha Ling mountain, one of the most famous faces that towers over Canmore. I love how the West-facing side of the mountain catches a golden glow as the sun lowers on the horizon and begins to set. Have I mentioned how much I love living here?!
Nothing says ‘happy’ like an adorably scrunched laugh face. Name a cuter couple- I dare ya.
We took a break on the hillside overlooking the lake. Kenny and Luke cuddled up as I crouched down onto the ground to get a low angle so I could frame them with greenery.
