Canmore nordic centre wedding

The Canmore Nordic Centre is one of the most beautiful venues in Canmore- mountain views all around!

Aishlyn and Luke had the most beautiful day- even with the brief rain that rolled in during their ceremony. Even as a bridesmaid shielded Aishlyn from the rain during their ceremony with a makeshift umbrella (AKA a folder from the officiant) it couldn’t put a damper on their celebrations.

Aishlyn and Luke started their day getting ready separately but doing a gift exchange and reading letters that they had written for each other:

Aishlyn and her father had a first look before the ceremony. There’s something about a dad crying after seeing his little girl as a bride that is always a tear-jerker for all involved. I always sound like a monster when I say this, but I always cross my fingers for a few father tears during a wedding:

Next up was the ceremony at the Canmore Nordic Centre by Cornerstone Weddings. This beautiful venue has multiple outdoor locations available for ceremonies, Aishlyn and Luke opted for a private area with sprawling views of the mountains.

I truly can’t say enough good about this gorgeous venue! You’ve got mountain views every way that you turn and it’s tucked away from high traffic areas so you truly have the whole area to yourselves:

The clouds overhead had been moving in quickly and had threatened rain the whole morning. However, it showed up *right on time* for the ceremony in the exact moment that Aishlyn began her walk down the aisle towards Luke. Very dramatic timing, but they rolled with it like champs! Check out a bridesmaid below DIY-ing a way to protect the bride’s makeup in the rain… Shoutout to the officiant for kindly lending her your folder as a makeshift umbrella!

The rain decided it had had enough of the wedding and left before the ceremony ended, which I’m sure no one was upset about. Aishlyn and Luke had their first kiss as the sun replaced the rain and peaked through the breaking clouds:

The ceremony was held in the outdoor gazebo:

The newlyweds and I headed down to Quarry Lake, a 2 minute drive from the venue. The sun was back and shining down in full glory at this point- no more rain on this parade!

Quarry Lake is always a beautiful stop for any Canmore wedding. Although it’s a popular area, especially on weekends, it’s so large that you have many options for locations that will give you a bit more privacy.

We escaped the rain but we couldn’t escape a few gusts of wind... In Alberta winds, veils walk the fine line between ‘majestic and flow-y' and ‘will attack your husband or anyone else in a 4 foot radius’ :

Next up was a short hike to a secret waterfall (seriously- I swear that only us locals know about, it’s our little secret if you read this blog!) Aishlyn changed into more casual wear for the hike down since dirt + dresses don’t often get along. I brought along a portable dressing room (AKA a tarp) so she could have privacy as she changed back into her dress:

This spot is an absolute fairytale. If you’ve got some time to spare on your wedding day, consider popping down here for a private spot!

A few final details of their day. Take note of the candy table- 10/10 idea. Congrats again Aishlyn and Luke! -Kalla

My husband and I loved having her as our photographer. She is super professional and committed to getting the right shots! We hope that this review, and the photos presented on her social media and website really convince you to make that special decision.

She is worth every penny!” -Aishlyn and Luke
